0. Literature: Note for Mort aux Chats.

Op het eerste gezicht, is Mort aux Chats een monoloog die de lezer probeert te overtuigen van de 'onwenselijkheid' van katten. Als we nauwkeuriger lezen, dan is het gedicht een commentaar op rassendiscriminatie zoals we die soms in de politiek tegenkomen. Er worden feiten gepresenteerd met een achterliggende, haatzaaiende boodschap met een retoriek die vaak gebruikt wordt/werd door Geert Wilders en Adolf Hitler. Het citaat "When I dream of God, I see a massacre" komt uit een speech van Hitler. Het gedicht maakt de retoriek belachelijk door de toon, de feiten, en de verdraaide logica te imiteren en daarnaast te overdrijven.
